Matthew Perry, who passed away two weeks ago in his California home, is suspected by one of his former partners to have relapsed into his previous addictions. Kayti Edwards, aged 47, was Perry's partner in 2006 and later worked as his assistant. Edwards had a close relationship with the actor and claims to have known him well, as reported by The Sun. It is worth noting that initial toxicology reports did not detect any traces of methamphetamine or fentanyl in Perry's system. According to Edwards, Perry was displaying all the signs of a relapse into his addiction to pills.
While authorities found several prescription medications for depression, anxiety, and COPD (a lung disease) at his home, Edwards remains skeptical.
Moreover, Edwards highlighted the actor's use of the term 'Mattman' on social media prior to his passing, which raised concerns. "Mattman wasn't something he did when he was sober. Mattman would emerge when he wasn't sober and felt invincible," she revealed. Edwards recounted an incident where she had to intervene when Perry's neighbor found him naked and intoxicated in his pool in Hollywood Hills. "He always had a fascination with water when he was under the influence. He constantly wanted to be in the pool or jacuzzi," she added. While Perry's cause of death remains unknown, Edwards continues to hold suspicions regarding the circumstances surrounding his passing.
She also mentioned that there were no prescription painkillers found, indicating that Perry did not leave medication lying around. Edwards disclosed that she had consumed the pills out of paranoia and would acquire more when needed. The investigation into Matthew Perry's death is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the exact cause. In the meantime, his loved ones and fans mourn the loss of a talented actor who struggled with addiction throughout his life.
